Classroom for Dalayap
On December 28, 2016, the money that we were able to raise from the earlier fundraiser activity at our WA home was used to empower two abandoned classrooms in a remote coastal town of Macabebe, Pampanga, Philippines.
Initially, the money was intended to build a Kindergarten classroom for the Aeta tribe in the aboriginal mountain of Floridablanca, Pampanga. As our working crew was ready to commit to months of work in the mountain, we discovered that water was a huge problem in the area. This major setback brought unexpected challenges. If water was a principal issue, the construction of the classroom will not be realized at all. Time was also crucial. After careful consideration, with both of these important elements missing, we decided to shift our charity towards an equally poor community needing help. Thus, the project became Project Dalayap, named after the barangay where the needy high school is located.
And to the men and women who made the Dalayap Project their personal mission, thank you!
